In May/June 2019, we went to Cartagena and Medellin, Colombia and Quito, Ecuador. We started the trip in Cartagena and then we headed to Medellin. While in Catergena, we went to Playa Blanca and Palenque. By far, the highlights in Medellin were visiting Guatape and Penol, traveling up the cable cars, and my Comuna 13 Tour. Medellin had a real cool vibe. They partied all night long near our hotel. Hard to believe that this was the most dangerous city in Colombia in the 1990s. Just goes to show you can’t only depend on media to frame your worldview. Enjoy these couple dozen Cartagena pics. These by no way capture my entire experience. But they do give you a flavor of what I/we experienced.
