These pictures are from my epic 2018 European vacation. I took the family to Paris, Barcelona, and Rome. We flew Norwegian out of Boston and into Charles De-Gaulle.  From Paris, we took the high-speed train 6.5 hours to Barcelona.  We flew from Barcelona to Rome on Ryan Air.  We flew back home to JFK on Norwegian, spent a night in New York, then flew home back to Atlanta on Delta.

While in Paris, we did the touristy thing.  It was my second time there but it was the family’s first time.  We had the Paris City Pass so we were able to visit a number of attractions for (relatively) cheap.  In addition to the must-see attractions like the Louvre, Notre Dame and Eiffel Tower, we also caught the Hop On Hop Off bus to get an overview of the city.  We went up to the 59th floor of the Montparnasse Tower to get a great view of the city.  We also had a great view at Montmartre.  We even climbed the Arc de Triomphe to see a magical view of the city at sunset.  And we took a river cruise to experience Paris from the Seine River.  Afterwards, the kids enjoyed some crepes as a snack.

We stayed at an AirBNB in the outskirts of the city and just took the train in to the city center.  But from our temporary home, we were able to experience some of the genuine Parisian culture.  We had croissants for breakfast and ate dinners outside just like the locals.  I even went to the laundromat and washed clothes, even though I didn’t speak a lick of French.  I felt that the pace in France was much slower, believe it or not.  It was a good start to our European trip.  Hope you enjoy these selected pictures.  Rest assured, there are hundreds of other pics where these came from.
